A festive treat capturing the flavors of the holiday season, this soft and moist bread is packed with eggnog, nutmeg, and cinnamon.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup eggnog
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine the softened butter, eggnog, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir until everything is just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan.
  6. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove it to cool completely on a wire rack.

Notes

For best results, use fresh nutmeg and cinnamon. Avoid overmixing to keep the bread light and fluffy.
